Silver Halide Privacy Policy

The short version: Silver Halide collects no data. None. Your photos are taken, developed, and stored on your iPhone, and they never leave it unless you choose to save or share them.

How the app works

You take one photo and it develops over thirty seconds. That development runs entirely on your device, using the camera and the motion sensors to decide what the finished image looks like. Nothing is uploaded at any point, and the app works with no network connection at all.

What the app uses, and where it stays

The camera. Silver Halide needs camera access to take a picture, which iOS will ask you for the first time you use it. The frame it captures goes straight into the development process on your device. It is never sent anywhere.
Motion and orientation. Tilting and moving your phone changes the developing image, so the app reads the accelerometer and gyroscope while a photo is forming. Those readings are used in the moment and then discarded. They are not recorded, stored, or associated with anything.
Ambient light. Exposing the lens to bright light during development causes flares and leaks, so the app watches the camera feed for brightness while the photo forms. That happens on your device and produces no record of its own.
Your photos. Finished photos live on your iPhone. Saving one to your photo library is your choice and requires the permission iOS asks you for; until you do, the image exists only inside the app. Deleting a photo removes it. There is no cloud copy, no backup on our side, and no way to recover it.
No location. The app does not request or read your location, and no location data is written into the photos it makes.

What we don't do

No accounts, sign-ups, or logins.
No analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
No servers. The app has nothing to send data to.
No selling, sharing, or transferring of data to anyone, because we never have it.

Sharing

If you share a photo, iOS hands it to whichever app or person you picked, and what happens to it from there is up to that service and its own privacy policy. Silver Halide is not involved in the transfer and does not know it happened.

Deleting your data

There is nothing held anywhere else to delete. Removing a photo in the app deletes it, and deleting the app removes everything it was holding on that device. Photos you saved to your photo library stay there until you delete them yourself.

Children

Silver Halide is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new date at the top.
